Overview
RF FastSPICE is the most comprehensive and powerful multi-tone periodic analyzer in the industry. In addition to containing all of capabilities in the  Noise Analysis Option  device noise analyzer, RF FastSPICE includes powerful proprietary multi-tone analysis engines. Like all Berkeley Design Automation tools, this tool provides true SPICE accuracy with superior performance on much larger circuits than is otherwise possible. The tool’s target applications are complete nanometer CMOS multi-mode/channel transmit and receive chains and their complex blocks.

Key Features

  • True SPICE accuracy
  • Highest performance and capacity in the industry
  • Comprehensive multi-tone analysis
  • Transient noise analysis
  • Periodic analyses: PSS, OSCPSS, VCOPSS, PNOISE, OSCNOISE, VCONOISE, PAC, PXF
  • Netlist compatibility: HSPICE® and Spectre®
  • Extensive standard model support
  • Standard output format support including: PSF ASCII, PSF binary, tr0, Nutmeg ASCII, Nutbin, Nutbinf
  • Full Cadence Analog Design Environment integration

Target Applications

  • Multi-mode/channel transmit and receive chains
  • ADCs (sigma-delta, pipelined, video, etc.)
  • DACs
  • PLLs (integer-N and fractional-N)
  • Frequency synthesizers
  • Complete transmit and receive chains
  • Complex LNA + mixer circuits, including switching mixers
  • Power amplifiers (PAs), including digitally modulated and distributed PAs
  • Frequency dividers with up to 12 bits
  • VCOs (ring-oscillator, LC-tank) including bias and amplifier circuits
  • Highly nonlinear and high-Q crystal oscillators with limiters
