LG Electronics
Adopts Berkeley Design Automation Analog FastSPICE™
Full SPICE Accuracy and 10x Performance
Dramatically Reduce Verification Time for
Consumer Electronics and Mobile Communications ICs
Santa Clara, CA, —May 2, 2007— Berkeley Design Automation Inc.,
provider of Precision Circuit Analysis™ technology for advanced analog
and RF integrated circuits, today announced that LG Electronics, Inc.,
a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, home
appliances, and mobile communications, has adopted the company’s Analog
FastSPICE™ circuit simulator. Analog FastSPICE enables LG Electronics’
designers to verify their nanometer-scale analog circuits in a fraction
of the time required by traditional SPICE tools.
“Berkeley Design Automation’s Analog FastSPICE provides us a tremendous
advantage in achieving fast innovation and fast growth by delivering 10
times faster circuit verification with full SPICE accuracy for our most
complex and innovative analog circuits,” said Dr. Kirt Hong, Group
Leader of Mixed-Signal Design at the System IC Division of LG
Electronics. “This speed and accuracy enables LG Electronics to
accelerate the rate of innovation and deliver products to market much
faster across our mobile communications, digital appliance, digital
display, and digital media businesses.”
Analog FastSPICE uses Berkeley Design Automation’s proprietary
Precision Circuit AnalysisTM technology to deliver full SPICE accuracy,
5X to 10X performance, and vastly superior DC convergence compared to
traditional SPICE tools. Analog FastSPICE delivers identical waveforms
as traditional SPICE simulators at every node on every run. The product
is proven on a wide range of circuits including high-speed I/Os, power
regulators, LCD-TV source drivers, memory interfaces, and PLLs and
DLLs.
“We are delighted that LG Electronics, a global leader and technology
innovator, has selected Berkeley Design Automation,” said Ravi
Subramanian, president and CEO of Berkeley Design Automation. “The
engineers at LG Electronics design some of the most complex analog
circuits for consumer electronics, digital display and mobile
communications applications. Their selection of Analog FastSPICE is
strong validation of our Precision Circuit Analysis technology and the
tremendous value it can deliver in developing complex semiconductors
for all these markets.”
