Design Automation Opens Subsidiary in Japan
Local Office Will Provide Direct Sales and
Support To Rapidly Expanding Japanese Customer Base
SANTA CLARA, Calif.
—January 22, 2007— Berkeley Design Automation Inc., provider of
Precision
Circuit Analysis(TM) technology for advanced analog and RF integrated
circuits
(ICs) today announced that it has established a wholly-owned subsidiary
Berkeley Design Automation KK (BDA KK) in Japan. BDA KK will provide
direct
sales and technical support to better serve the company’s rapidly
expanding
Japanese customer base.

Prior to the opening of BDA KK, IT-Farm, a venture capital
and consulting firm, has been providing hands-on support to establish
Berkeley
Design Automation’s presence in the Japanese market.

Berkeley Design Automation also announced the hiring of Katsuzo
Komatsu as Japan Sales Manager. Mr. Komatsu joins the company from
Platform
Computing, where he was director of electronics sales. Prior to
Platform
Computing, Mr. Komatsu held sales and management positions at Synopsys,
Numerical Technologies, Viewlogic Systems and Zuken.
