Design Automation Promotes Raj Raghuram To VP of Engineering
Industry Veteran To Lead Distinguished
Development Team
SANTA CLARA, Calif.
—September 26, 2006— Berkeley Design Automation Inc., provider of
Precision Circuit Analysis(™) technology for advanced analog and RF
integrated circuits, today announced the promotion of Dr. Raj Raghuram
to the position of vice president of engineering. Dr. Raghuram was an
original member of the company’s development team and the leader of
core simulation engine development. He will now lead the overall team
which has over 150 years of combined experience in circuit simulation
and analysis.
Berkeley Design Automation’s Analog FastSPICE and RF FastSPICE are the
industry’s first precision FastSPICE products. The tools deliver
full-SPICE accuracy at 5X-10X performance without tuning and are ideal
for verifying multi-rate, highly nonlinear GHz CMOS circuits. Combining
innovative applied mathematics with advanced numerical optimization
techniques, the company developed the underlying Precision Circuit
Analysis technology from the bottom up, never compromising accuracy,
and verifying it against silicon every step of the way.
“Raj has been a key contributor and leader at BDA since its inception”
said Ravi Subramanian, CEO at Berkeley Design Automation. “He has the
leadership skills and vision required to lead our development team as
they continue to deliver the industry’s most innovative analog/RF
circuit simulation technology.”
Dr. Raghuram received his B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from the
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras and his M.S. and Ph.D. in
Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He joined Berkeley
Design Automation in 2003, where he has been an architect and leader of
the core simulation engine development team. Dr. Raghuram was
co-founder of Applied Simulation Technology, a circuit analysis
software provider spun out of Contec Microelectronics, where Dr.
Raghuram served as manager of circuit simulation. Dr. Raghuram’s
distinguished career includes twelve years as assistant professor in
the Electrical Engineering department at IIT, Kanpur. He is the author
of ‘Computer Simulation of Electronic Circuits’, a textbook used at
universities world-wide.
“Raj is one of the industry’s most preeminent authorities in the area
of circuit simulation and he is the perfect choice to lead the
outstanding team that we have assembled” said Dr. Amit Narayan, company
co-founder, member of the company’s board of directors and former vice
president of engineering. “I look forward to working with Ravi and the
BDA board so that we realize the full potential of our unique
technology.”
