Berkeley Design Automation CTO
and VP of Engineering To Present at ICCAD-2005
SANTA CLARA, Calif. —November 4, 2005—Berkeley Design Automation, the
new analog/RF electronic design automation company, today announced
that co-founders Dr. Amit Narayan and Dr. Amit Mehrotra and three
members of its engineering team will present breakthrough circuit
analysis techniques at the International Conference on Computer-Aided
Design 2005 (ICCAD-2005) in San Jose, Calif. on Tuesday, November 8 and
Thursday, November 10.
Dr. Narayan, Vice-President of Engineering, Dr. Mehrotra, Chief
Technical Officer, and two members of Berkeley Design’s development
team, Suihua Lu and David Lee, will present a paper entitled
‘Steady-State Analysis of Voltage and Current Controlled Oscillators’
in the Oscillator Analysis Session on Tuesday, November 8.
Dr. Narayan and Dr. Yuri Sirenko will participate in the session
entitled ‘Simulation Technology and Tools for the Nano Era’ on
Thursday, November 10.
Dr. Narayan and Dr. Mehrotra founded Berkeley Design Automation in
2003. Both received their B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from Indian
Institute of Technology at Kanpur and did their doctoral research
together at the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Mehrotra’s
Ph.D. thesis topic and his research at the University of Illinois set
the foundation for Berkeley Design Automation’s breakthrough Stochastic
Nonlinear Engine circuit analysis technology. This technology
accurately models the nonlinear, time-varying behavior of circuits at
the transistor level, enabling designers to reduce silicon re-spins and
reliably meet cost, performance, and schedule goals.
ICCAD-2005 will be held November 6-10, 2005 at the Doubletree Hotel in
San Jose, Calif. For more information on the conference, see

About Berkeley
Design Automation
Berkeley Design Automation Inc. was founded in 2003 to address the
verification challenges in the design of next-generation
high-performance analog/RF integrated circuits (ICs). Berkeley Design
Automation is a venture-backed, private company funded by Woodside Fund
and Bessemer Venture Partners. The company’s technology characterizes
the nonlinear, time-varying behavior of complex analog and RF circuits,
providing extremely accurate predictions that dramatically reduce the
need for silicon respins. The company’s first product, PLL Noise
Analyzer, the industry's first noise analysis tool for phase-locked
loops (PLLs), has already been adopted by semiconductor industry
leaders. For more information, see http://www.berkeley-da.com.
