    High Speed I/O

Nearly all modern integrated circuits require High-Speed I/Os. These circuits run at GHz speeds and support standards and protocols such as SerDes, PCI, PCI-X, XAUI, DDR, DDR2, and XDR. Designers must verify that the I/O circuits meet stringent performance requirements and protocol specifications across all operating conditions. This requires many long transient simulations with full SPICE accuracy. By reducing overnight simulations to a few hours and week-long simulations to a day – all while producing identical waveforms as traditional SPICE simulators – Analog FastSPICE can help design teams cut days to weeks off of their High-Speed I/O design cycle.

The table below lists customer High-Speed I/O circuits for which Analog FastSPICE delivered full SPICE accuracy at least 5X faster.

Circuit Device Count Silicon Process Simulation Task
DDR2 10,000 130nm Transient
DLL 8,000 90nm Transient
PLL 6,400 130nm Transient
PMA Rx 110,000 90nm Transient
SerDes 20,000 90nm Transient
SerDes 8,600 90nm Transient
SerDes 4,200 130nm Transient
Serial I/O 3,400 130nm Transient
